Traditional Drawing

Observational drawing was the foundation of my arts background.
A selection of graphite studies and life drawings, in various levels of finish.

Painting

I fell in love with oil painting in high school.
Life situations put things on pause, but I look forward to resuming my practice in the future.

Dapple I, Oil on canvas, 30“×40“, 2014 | An exploration of dappled light, refractive properties of oil, and the visually-striking ‘paused action’ of trapped bubbles in a frozen lake.

Howl I, Oil on canvas, 10“×8“, 2014 | An exploration of the duality of wolves in the history of human culture.

Firstfruits, Oil on panel, 5“×7“, 2017 | An abstract composition inspired by the Biblical concept of ‘firstfruits’.

Howl III, Oil on canvas, 5“×7“, 2015 | Semi-abstract frames continued, with a new technique applied for the flowing tail.

Howl II, Oil on canvas, 5“×7“, 2015 | Howl concept expansion, with semi-abstract frames of curled-up wild creatures in slumber.

Cloud Girl, Oil on canvas, 53“x 60“, 2014–15 | A compilation of (and tribute to) all the sunsets that took my breath away. An expression of the endless beauty and wonder found in sensitivity, and my hopes and dreams at the time.

Additional Works

Road of Stars, Photography + mixed media, 2014 | An idea that came from staring at a cement wall while waiting for the bus.

Albino Peacock, Silver scratchboard, 2017 | A fun monochromatic challenge and indulgence of my fascination with these creatures.

Introspective Sculpture, chicken wire & mixed media, 2015 | An experimental sculpture piece about social anxiety disorder.
